Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi tells Santhanam to shun vulgar dialogues

Debutant director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi is said to have told leading comedian Santhanam in no uncertain terms that he should stay away from double-meaning and vulgarish-sounding dialogues in her Vanakkam Chennai. Kiruthiga, wife of producer-distributor Udhayanishi stalin who turned hero with the successful Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, is doing her bit to ensure that she doesn’t get frowned in her husband’s popularity.
A woman with a sharp brain, Kiruthiga is making her directorial debut with a film titled Vanakkam Chennai which, for some reasons, doesn’t have Udhaya essaying the lead role. ‘Mirchi’ Siva and Priya Anand have been paired up for the first time on screen to play the lead roles in Vanakkam Chennai. Kruthiga hints that her first film as a director won’t be dwelling on issues such as women’s liberation and their rights but assures it would be a very interesting commercially viable project.
“I have done my best to ensure that the audiences won’t feel bored when they come to watch my film in theatres,” she says. Santhanam, who offers the comic relief in the film, is said to have been asked by his director not to utter or say any dialogues which might even remotely sound vulgarish or with double-meanings. Santhanam, who has become a close friend of Udhaya ever since their OKOK days, is said to have agreed to the condition put forth by Kiruthiga. He has been particularly advised not to comment anything against women.
