Samantha Ruth Prabhu, otherwise known to her millions of fans as Samantha, has denied reports appearing in certain sections of the print media that she is demanding and getting Rs.1.75 crore per film these days. Thanks to last year’s super-duper hit film Naan Eee and the not-so-hit film Neethanae En Ponvasantham, Samantha has become a household in Tamil Nadu. Samantha is quite popular in Andhra Pradesh as she has starred in more number of Telugu films than Tamil. Samantha’s is a name which frequently features in many rumours and controversies and she hardly has the time to react to each of those rumours and set the record straight. However, whenever she feels like, she doesn’t mince words in putting her views across. Speaking to newsmen in Hyderabad recently, Sam said “It’s just a false rumour that I demanded to be paid Rs.1.75 crore for an upcoming film. Basically, I’m an introvert, I don’t think I’m bold enough to seek such a huge sum from my producers. “If someone is ready to proves that I made such demanded, I’m very much ready to give him that amount. I have been reasonably successful in both Tamil and Telugu and have as many as six films in various stages of production in these languages. It’s a fact that I have not even breached the Re.1 crore barrier as my fee per film. Luckily, my films are doing well and I’m happy to be able to keep my fans happy!” Sam concluded on a philosophical note.
